Yep, dirty pot.
Turn the amp off. Then twist that mids know back and forth quickly a couple dozen times. That should help.

If not, you should replace the pot. These pots do not do well cleaning, but you can try.
You have to open the amp either way.

Hope this helps.

If you feel comfortable replacing it yourself, contact Roger Crimm at Peavey and tell him I told you to contact him.

He will take care of you.

Hey Tom,
Get a can of Deoxit D5 (Amazon $15), take the head out of the cabinet, turn it upside down & spray the Deoxit in the openings in ALL the pots. Then turn them back and forth several times. That should take care of the issue! I've done it on many Peavey amps. Works like a champ!

Depending on the condition of the pot spraying cleaner in it may or may not fix it. Or is only a temporary solution.

If it's working good otherwise and turning the knob back and forth doesn't help, I would just live it. When you get it set where you want it, there would be no reason to turn it any more. Turn the volume down low and set it where you want it, and forget about it. I dont remember if the 112 has a headphone out jack or not. If it does, you could use it. Then nobody hears the pop except you while you're adjusting the knob.
