I'm on a roll. Here's another recording I just did this morning of another classic slow pop/jazz standard. This one must have taken close to twenty tries before I could get through it with something I could live with. "The Nearness of You", which I posted yesterday, was recorded in one take. Hope you like this one.

Lovely sound and playing Rich. Love the guitar, do you have knee levers on there as well as pedals? Looks like you have normal eight string spacing for slants. I find Ten string necks restrict slants that are easy on lap steel.

Jim, thank you for the nice response. I still use slants, even with the pedals, albeit not as often as I used to in non-pedal playing. Yes, there are four knee levers. Probably a sacrilege to some Bigsby aficionados. But since I removed the pulley and cable system and replaced it with rods, I guess anything goes. If you check out this link, you can see photos of the undercarriage.

Thanks, Norman. I don't know if it is still true, but at one time, Stardust was reputed to be the most recorded song. Either way, it is a truly lovely song, which does stand up as an instrumental. In fact, Hoagy Carmichael composed the song in 1927, and the lyrics weren't added until several years later.

Very nice, Rich. I like that you played the first section of the song. A lot of players leave that out.
By the way, I have a couple of nice pictures I took of you and your Bigsby a couple of years ago when you played a show in Westfield MA. If you send me your email address in a private message I'll email them to you. Or maybe I already sent them to you?
