Only $2,500. I thought of just buying the parts and building one of these but here it is all in one piece off the shelf. Now what if Brent starts playing something else most of the time? lol

Mr Prior here Very Happy

Yes, true, you can build a nice Tele which may be similar for perhaps a FEW dollars less, but you can't build this one. Laughing

Check out Zac ( sorry for the political add in front of Zacs video these days this stuff just happens everywhere we go)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aztpGLZAhxk

------------------------------------------------------
There are many that claim they can build this guitar for much less. And then there are a few that say, not so fast !

redesigned Glaser ( B or G ) system $650-$700
3- SD pups > $300
Custom G+G Vintage case -$200
Sperzel Locking Tuners +/- $100
Vintage ( 1967) 7.25 radius neck, .85 depth +/- $300
Ash Body- +/- $300
Custom wired electronics and Pickguard $200 ?
Dunlap Strap locks
Total Weight 8.2 lbs
already built, whats that worth ?
s/n Certificate/Warranty ? RESALE value ?

So parts alone , at retail prices , have this guitar at +/- $2000 before we even put it together , and when its all done, its still not THIS guitar ! Very Happy

Oh yeah forgot one part
Gray Primer spray paint, $4.00 Very Happy

Being serious, this is perhaps the best Electric guitar I have ever owned, and over my tenure of half a century, I've owned a few . The entire package is very well presented and very professional, this was not thrown together . Fender did a great job here.

For certain, $2500 is not cheap and its not for everyone, IF a player does NOT LIKE the 7.25 neck profile , the 1.625 NUT width and a neck depth of .85 at the 1st fret, or fret heights at around .045 , this is NOT the guitar for you.

But, seeing this is the Steel Guitar Forum, everyone here is acclimated to paying several thousand dollars for an instrument, and have more than 1, so maybe $2500 isn't a concern ! Laughing

Nice pics! Pre-ordered mine for October/November delivery. Fender has done a great job of creating new amps and guitars that sell well including this and the new Tone Master amps. I will have to sell some stuff to get this guitar but I suspect it will be worth it and hold it's value better than most guitars I have purchased in the past. The initial offering batch of this guitar is sold out everywhere!

Hey Greg, you will not be disappointed ! I was able to get one of the initial shipments , I did preorder back in Aug. Initially they said it would be Nov delivery, then late Sept, then all of a sudden it was the next day ! go figure.

I don't think these will be in production all that long, once the initial "wave" wears off I doubt we will see all that many hanging in guitars stores, especially at $2500.

I suspect a +/- 24 month window for this guitar before it is no longer in the product line.

be well

Greg when you get yours don't forget there are two Dunlap standard strap locks, for your strap in the case. The one for the BENDER lever, reverse it on your strap or the strap will be twisted. Very Happy This is normal for Glaser systems.

Checked that one out, $2199 new + $45 shipping when it was available. Missed out on one from Reverb for a good bit less too. I'll pay a few hundred more for the Fender headstock and more than get it back when it's time to sell!

I've got a bunch of Epiphone, PRS and Fender Squire Classic Vibe guitars that I reworked and they are great but not in the class of this Brent Mason guitar. I've guess part of me has become a collector now too.

UHHHH GUYS !!! No Glaser Bender B/G system in the Valley Arts guitar. Actually, NO Bender system at all.

THIS IS A HUGE difference. An insurmountable difference. Much like Fender offering a Brad Paisley Signature Model without a G Bender. Exclamation

I suspect once the Fender model BM Guitars are out on the market in supply, the Valley Arts model will drop in price considerably on the used market due to the NO BENDER system. This is a $700 option.

Every Tele player in the world should know of this guitar by now, its probably the biggest Fender Production News in a decade !

PLUS another difference is SD made the exact same PUP ( the red one) which is in the original Mason guitar for the Fender model. Note the MAG STRIP in the Valley Arts Red mid pup. Not in the Fender guitar. Fenders attention to detail is extremely impressive .

Of course, ! Not a big deal. I'm talking about the News of the release of the production guitar , not Brent himself ! Laughing

I think it was Early or MID August Brent himself spoke of the release.

The Glaser bender requires no visible routing of the back much like the B&W bender I posted about on my red tele:

http://www.gregcutshaw.com/Fender%20Bender/Fender%20Bender.html

I see lots of reissue Tele's with no benders and only two pickups and no advanced control plate going for over $2200 lately. I suspect a lot of people are going to dump their Teles on the market to get cash to buy one of the new Brent Mason models.

am I correct in thinking the bender on the Mason tele can be switched between the B and G string, but can't do both at once?

I'd really love to try one of these!

Good luck finding one to try ! It may be a while. These guitars are still in PRE ORDER status everywhere.

Regarding the Bender,

Its one or the other , B or G , to do both at the same time is a Double Bender and requires TWO independent systems .

This has been typical of Glaser systems for many years now, one of the other. The current dual saddle is a recent Glaser design.

I also own a Gibson Music City jr, ( Les Paul jr with the Glaser system) it also has the B/G option. These guitars were in Gibson production I believe in 2012 and 2013 before being discontinued. Joe Glaser had the "one or the other" thing going on even back then. Then difference is the Gibson uses a single PULL saddle, you swap the B and G saddles.

Bill Warford of B&W Benders passed away in 2016. His business continues however under a new owner here:

https://www.facebook.com/B-W-Benders-834228356616892/

You can get a non-invasive no back routed G and B bender (both at the same time) installed by B&W for a really reasonable price that will look just like the one posted on my link above.
