My good friend Johnnie Robbins passed away peacefully at his home in West Virginia last night, of heart failure. Johnnie was a steel player, a devout Christian and a kind human being. He also played mandolin and sang. He lived here in Cloverdale for about 10 years, where he hosted a monthly country music jam. He would often stop by the Forum office just to chat. We had many adventures together, and even shared a room at the convention one year.

Johnnie moved back to West Virginia to be closer to his family and his roots. He made friends among the steel players there, and played regularly in church. I have a lot of pictures of Johnnie. This is the most recent, taken when I visited him in 2019. I'm going to miss that guy. Crying or Very sad

Fairmont, West Virginia. He lived here in Cloverdale for a while, though. That's where I got to know him.
