This sounds a bit like John Hughey, but I'm not 100%

I believe it is Weldon. I know he used John Hughey on a few of his songs.

John Hughey played quite a bit with Wayne Kemp. Wayne's brother Tommy is our guitar player and he told me that John had been to his home in Muldrow, Ok back when Wayne was on the road a lot so they ran together a lot.

John played on Harland County. Classic Hughey kick off and fills!
