Who played the steel solo at 1:25 with such great tone and a cool +chord squeeze on the V?

It was the Jimmy Day era, I guess, but to me the style and attack sound a little modern, like Walter Haynes'.

Thanks Mitch. Day had it going on!

It's fun to revisit Ray's songs from that period to figure out who's playing steel and enjoy the great tones. Some tracks, like Emmons' E9 licks and solo on "The Wild Side of Life", sound very modern for those times.
