I play lots of solo gigs on steel guitar with backing trax.
I 1st used cassettes, then CD's My Laptop and then Mp3 players.

My favorite has been ZUNE players by microsoft, but they are now obsolete and the software is unsupported by microsoft. Do any of you guys use mp3 files? what do you play them on? thanks Dom

I use MP3's for break music and play them on my tablet which is bluetoothed to a receiver on the PA.
I just used the built in player which works well.

iTunes on iPhone.

An imperfect solution but it works.

Before the virus when I was doing retirement home gigs I used an iPad with an app called One Song, ran through a Fishman amp. Fantastic app that plays your mp3s and scrolls your lyrics if you choose all set up in set lists.

I have 10.000 + mp3's on my (Android) smartphone. Any smartphone can play them and the modern ones have amazing sound quality.

Dom, I use my old smartphone now but I still have a Sansa Sandick mp3 player that held a ton of files and played mp4 videos as well. The Samsung S4 smartphone I use has a better screen and still WiFi capable.
