Here's a very rare Kahlmen triple neck steel - likely from the early 1950s. Kahlmen is well known as a quality accordion manufacturer, and they produced a handful of steel guitars. This is one of them and is likely their top-of-the-line model.
The pics tell the story of this fine handmade instrument better than I can. Beautiful pearloid finish, not only on the top (as seen with most vintage steels), but also on the back and sides. Sparkle fretboard markers and raised metal art deco accents around the body complete the classic look.
The tuners have been replaced on all three necks. This is common for vintage tuners, since they tend to degrade over time.
Includes the original hardshell case with brown "gator" exterior and plush blue interior. The original leather handle has been repaired, but I don't recommend using it due to the fragility of aged leather.
This instrument was in a private collection for the past 30+ years and has not been for sale during that time. Probably the only time you have seen one of these - and possibly the only opportunity to buy one at any price.
Thanks for looking!
