I occasionally play an outdoor venue where the 110 power is either low voltage or amperage or both. My Evans RE500 loses gain to the point by the end of the show I'm flooring the VP to get enough volume. Scott at Evans tells me I'm lucky it didn't fry the power amp. But the amp works fine afterwards and everywhere else with no problems. My question is has anybody used one of those higher capacity 110v emergency backup batteries to power an amp? _________________ Drew Pierce

Back in the 70s, I played a bar that had poor quality electrical circuits (an old hotel built in the 1800s). If I played a powerful C6 chord, our amps would distort and the lights onstage and on the dance floor would dim. I ended up buying a voltage stabilizer/line conditioner made by Tripplite. Solved the problem. I don't know if I would trust a battery backup. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . This is what you need, it's actually on sale right now, great deal. You can still plug it into the questionable power supply to keep its battery charged, but it will give you a nice smooth 110v to your amp. Useful to keep the fridge on when the power goes out too.

Thanks for the input. I like the idea of using something like the Bluetti as both a line conditioner and backup power as long as they don't generate hum or other noises. Could lack of grounding be an issue? _________________ Drew Pierce
