HELLO JAIME,

Are Sigrio & Magna singing in the Danish language?

Apparently Paul was requested to use a SHO-BUD for this video. Smile

Well, it ain't Danish, that's for sure. I think it sounds like what can be heard in Faroe Islands.

Way Cool..... I really enjoyed that. It goes to show that even when not understanding the language, when the music is good, it's good regardless. And it sure was some real good listening.

Thanks Jamie,,,,,,,,,,

John, no, It is not Norwegian. It sounds like Icelandic to me.

Paul's Sho-Bud "cuts through" just amazingly! I LOVE the way this steel was played and recorded. I can't get over the "punch" that was delivered here. Something to be said for the steels of yore? I don't know. All I know is that I loved what I heard.
Great band. GREAT singers! In all, a superb performance.

Very Happy Whoa! Rolling Eyes Smile Laughing

No matter what the nationality of this song was being sung; I say it was superb; excellent; great; The singing; the talent of all the musicians; what more can I say ? And the duet was out-standing; but our man, franklin brought out so much more for our ' Ears " to par-take in.. He was the cream and icing on the cake, so to speak. They were all beyond words. Was this man, Franklin the son or Dad ? Thanks for sharing with we forumites..Bernie Whoa! Whoa! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

OH SO RIGHT! That 'Bud has got some kick to it. Paul sounds more aggresive on it, too.

Peter Nyland got it right. She's from the Faroe Islands. Here's her bio: http://www.sigrey.com/bio-press.html

Interesting side-note, she toured as a opener for Toto a few years ago, and here's David Hungate (of Toto) on bass for her in the video.

Jamie , I was thinking along the same lines, even before you see the Bud the sound was Paul Franklin.

Hi Folks
I can answwer some of the questions: The language are The Faro Islands language, and Sigrid & Magna are singing in their own language, Danish a very different - I know the guys op there - I have been playing there in 2008 an this year.
It's very expensive to take music equipment on the plane, my friend Jakup Zachariassen are the guy who have taking the musicians from Nashville to the Faroe Islands, he has a SHO-bud Steelguitar.
The Faroe Islands are placed in the middle of the Atlantic ocean about 700 miles from Denmark.
There are about 40.000 people up there. Never been in a Country with so many great musicians and singers.
In Denmark there are living several thousands Faroes.

Its the Faroe Island gig.......The guitar was a loaner and it sure sounds good on this clip.....My guitar and amp were in Nashville.....The aggressive part of how it sounds was because of how hard I had to pick to get any sustain out of it........That was mostly because of the amp problems I was having.....The amp was self compressing and a softer attack just disappeared.....I could not figure out a way to get around the amp problem other than play extremely hard.....
