I believe the Blue Marvel 12 inch is a truly underestimated, underrated and overlooked speaker. _________________ You can observe a lot just by looking |

Did you buy a 16 ohm version? I thought the 8 and 16 ohm versions werent popular for steel. |

Bill, could you elaborate on why you feel it's an under rated speaker. Sounds like you have grown found of it. |

I agree with Bill! I got one in an extension cab trade, and installed it in a blue Bandit combo, sounds really good.
They sound to me a lot like the old Jensens. |

It's funny how tastes vary. I acquired a Peavey Classic 30 amp with a 12" Blue Marvel from a friend who needed quick cash. I struggle to get a good tone out of this amp. On a whim, I hooked up a Fender Special Design speaker and like magic, the amp came alive. To my ear, the Blue Marvel has an annoying mid-range honk. This is just a 30 watt amp, so maybe it's a different model Blue Marvel? |

Tommy, I've had a classic 30 for years and it's great for Telecaster and not so good for steel. It's a different speaker than the NV112 uses. I have a hard time liking 12 inch speakers for pedal steel and much prefer 15s. Basically same thing on my Peavey Bandit. I put a TC Furlong 12 in a Peavey special 130 and it sounds great. I also did the Ken Fox chip mod and tried a TT 12 without being impressed. The TC Furlong 12 was the magic sauce for me. |

Is that the speaker Fender used in the Blues Jr. amp?

Yes, the friend I bought it from played a Tele and he made the amp sound pretty good. |
