I assume tommy hill is a vocalist, and this is his band?

Also, that's quite an interesting rhythm electric guitar technique, with the slapping. 🤪 youve heard of slap bass? How about slap guitar? 🤣

Tommy Hill had a band in the 1960's called the Tommy Hill Nashville String Band. Looks like he worked with Pete Drake during that period at Starday records...just a guess but that may be Pete on steel.

Sounds like Jimmy Day, Its not Pete's tone nor Buddy's. Those licks are definitely within the way Jimmy played the C6th

Found it...I think.

Full credit to Paul Franklin on this one. Looks like Tommy Hill and the Nashville String Band had an album called Steel Guitar Instrumentals and recorded with Jimmy Day, Walter Haynes, and Pete Drake on steel. Jimmy Day (listed as "Jimmie" Day here) gets credited for steel on "Hi-Ballin'"
