Years ago I took off P8, never used it and it made P5 on my PP with more slop than I wanted.
Thanks to Wayne Franco I removed P7, he showed me other ways to play without it.
I put the reverse of pedal 6 on P4.
I put a 1/2 raise on string 4&8 on RKL.
I am a single note C6th player and a little Western swing once a year maybe.
So with all of that being said we should all be open to different things! Stand by. _________________ '70 D10 Black fatback Emmons PP, Hilton VP, BJS bars, Boss GE-7 for Dobro effect, Zoom MS50G, Stereo Steel amp, Telonics 15” speaker.

Think what you could do with a console steel! No pedals in your way at all!
Considerable weight savings. |

A few years ago I took all the C6 pedals (and hardware) off my ZB. It was a lot easier to haul it around. Just used it to practice C6 lap stuff.
I don't take it out anymore, and with so much time available recently, I put them all back on!
A whole new thing to play with!

P5, P6, and the knee lever lowering high C are the most important changes. The most important part of P8 is the raising of middle C to C#. It's so important that many non-pedal players retune that string for some songs. It won't add any slop to your push-pull as there are no other changes on that string.
It took me a long time to warm up to P7. Now I use it a lot, but I can play without it. If you tune with D on the 1st string, the notes (B and D) are still available. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

I'm with Bob here, while I am not to be considered a proficient C6th player by any stretch, I do lean on Peds 5,6 and the 3rd string lower ( hi C ). The more comfy I became with those basics I have added Ped 7 and P8 ( again) , as my first outing with the C6th was from the Jeff Newman course in the 70s ( Hold It) which explains P8 as the root with P5 as the 4th. Mix and match from there. _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,
