Watch out, Bruce. I think he's offering you use of his 'tuning wench' , not his tuning wrench. It might end up costing you a whole lot more than he's indicating. Wink

Bruce
It's truly hard to beat Bobbe's offer, but for other forumites out there with the same question, Ace or any other "worth-its-salt" hardware store has a la carte Allen wrenches of any size in the small parts dept., where they have screws, nuts, bolts, springs, washers, bushings, etc.

The only way Bruce can beat my offer is to have someone give him money with it!

Bruce, what I did years ago was go get a couple of Fender Telecaster (knurled) knobs, cut the "L" off a cheap allen wrench, and VOILER! A tuning wrench with a handle. Just put the wrench into the knob, tighten the setscrew, and away you go. Still use them today, one in each PP guitar.

For most of my career I've dreamed of a "tuning Wench". No such luck.also my neighborhood hardware has a la carte tuning wrenchs in everything but 7/64th's. Thank's Bobby for your generous offer. I'll try and get by this week.

Bobby Bowman and Jim Loessberg both had me get mine at Sears. Bobby also told me to get a ball end wrench. It works way better as it "finds" the hole by itself. (I know I am setting myself up there Surprised ) They are sold "a la carte" at Sears.

Maybe Jim Loessberg could post a pic of the one he made. It is similar to what Chick described.
Seems like someone like George L's or someone could make one like they do for the new guitars with the little plastic thingies on them.

Well, I want to thank Bruce Bouton for getting by today to take delivery of his duo of new wenches, sorry, I mean wrenches. He wanted "wenches, but all I could find were a pair or "Wrenches.

We had a great lunch and did some steel guitar soul searching, some expermenting with some of the guitars on the floor of the showroom, and much discussion concerning the tone and timbre of guitars. I now know why he needed the P-P tuning wrenches, even though he was very impressed with one of the new GFI D-10s.

Bruce is going great guns in the steel world and playing with Reba, and most excitedly, with Garth Brooks in Vegas, but not on the road. This is a fine steel player that still has the majority of great career ahead of him. Mr. Bouton is also doing some recording with Garth.

Sometimes I have to give away a tuning wrench just to find out how and old friend is doing. This one is doing FINE!

The GFI did sound good. The lunch was really good.Unfortunately Bobby wouldn't let me pay for it. Guess he knows I'll need to come back soon and return the favor. It was a good time. Wish I could have stayed longer.
Thanks Bobby
