What would the actual names of these chords and the progression be when used in a key of A context,,I guess it would be a M7,6m,2m,5 turnaround
strings 4,5,6,7 w/7 pedal 9th fret
strings 4,5,6,7 9th fret
strings 3,4,5,6 w/7th pedal 7th fret
strings 3,4,5,6 w/5 and 6 pedals 8th fret |

hard to say for sure without the bass notes, but you're probably right Sonny.
Amaj7
F#m7
Bm7
E7b9
is this from a particular song or just a standard turnaround? _________________ 1965 Emmons S-10, 3x5 • Emmons LLIII D-10, 10x12 • JCH D-10, 10x12 • Beard MA-8 • Oahu Tonemaster |

Thanks guys,,it's from one of Jeff's lessons,,,sounds good,,but doesn't name the chords specifically,,,which is unusual for Jeff. I think he used those forms to get that left foot dancing between those pedals,,LOL |

Hi Sonny (we haven't 'chatted' in a while!)
Sounds to me like Jeff's showing a little turnaround fill or ending-type tag....ending up at the (not shown) 9th fret, probably playing strings 3 thru 6
----Try using strings 3 thru 6 for your first two lines, and see if you might also like that sound.
And here's a slightly different variation, where you'll be able to hear the top string go Down in pitch, and then back Up in pitch for the final 'A' note
Fret 9, Pedal 7, strings 3 thru 6 (A Maj 9th)
Fret 7, Pedal 7, strings 3 thru 6 ( D 6th )
Fret 7, no pedals, strings 3 thru 6 (G 6th)
Fret 8, Pedals 5 & 6, strings 3 thru 6 (G# dim)
then,
Fret 9, no pedals, strings 3 thru 6 (A 6th )
Someone else better confirm the above chord names!
Thanks for sharing - neat little lick
Ron

I think of it as a 3- 6- 2- 5dom. _________________ I'd rather be pickin' |
