Forgive me the title of the post - it's just that I had so much fun connecting with other enthusiasts when I posted about my 1935 National cast aluminum lap steel, that I figured I'd use the same title for my other lap steel.
This one is also a refugee from the flea markets around Columbus, Ohio in the early 1980's, although, unlike the National, it's fully functional & came with a softshell case & a slide.
The serial number is X76199, which dates it to 1957 according to information posted by John Billings elsewhere on this Forum, & in Mark Makin's Palm Trees, Senoritas... Per page 297 of his book, it's a Supro Studio "Transition version', with the gold sprayed pickup unit & control plate.
I'd love to hear from other owners & players.
