Joseph, I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. I hope you will post pictures of the other end of this guitar, I think you have what is called a "Peminent" which has little tuners on the end near the pickups. If so, these are highly desirable collector guitars, and since your Dad Gary owned it, this is also a plus. Best luck selling. _________________ Bill Bailey

Now there is a very desirable piece of history that was owned and played by one of the GREAT players to come out of Texas. His passing was such a tragic day,,,,Gary died in Tennessee of a heart attack,,,his dad died in Texas of a heart attack,,,,ON THE SAME DAY,,(if I remember correctly). A huge loss to the steel guitar community!!!! |

Joseph do you have a changer end picture? It looks more like a Fingertip to me. |

Those are definitely permanent fingers. It has the fingertip style bellcranks though, as the later permanents all did.

I'm helping Joseph with the Tech stuff on his Dad Gary Hogue's Sho~Bud Perm.
Here is the current set up on this sweet ride.
I can help answer most all questions about this Classic Sho~bud Permanent. As you can see "Permanent" was the meaning of the rod pullers were originally welded on and so it was permanently set up for certain pulls....but this one was built specially during the Fingertip era; so that is what those Crossbars were put on, and made it more versatile...but still tunes like a single finger Pull-release type mechanism(like the original perm did).
Ok; come on with it???..ha.

What threw me was the fact that the pullers weren't welded. Ricky further explained. if I had the bucks it would be gone. |

And if you recall, Sonny, it was Mother's Day. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |
