There is so much talk on this forum about the merits of this particular model that I couldn't restrain myself from buying one when the opportunity presented itself. Mine has the Gumby headstocks and the teardrop knees (8X2)and I've already had a couple of knees added. I finally got to play the guitar at rehersal last night and it really sounds a lot better than my modern steel. You guys were not kidding about the tone and sustain of these instruments. I'm just glad I'm still young enough to get it in and out of my car. My only complaint with the instrument is the A pedal travel. Even with the pedal rod inserted on the hole closest to the cross shaft the travel is too long for me to easily rock off and on the pedal with the B pedal depressed. There is no room for a hole closer to the cross shaft as there would be interference with the stop. Should I drill a hole further out on the pedal itself and move the ball joint out closer to the end of the pedal?

Marc,

Have you adjusted the stop that's located next to where the pedal rod connects to the body? That will increase or decrease pedal travel. It's an adjustable screw. The trick is getting the pedal travel smaller without compromising the ability to tune it from the changer end.

Chris,

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

At the changer, the hole closest to the top.
At the cross-shaft(the pullers), the hole farthest from the c-shaft,
At the footpedal, move the pullingscrew farthest from the pedalbar( there are 2 little holes).
These things should help making the travel shorter. You will need to adjust the pedalstop accordingly.
