I bought an old Sho-Bud, single 10, rack and barrel, single raise and lower, six pedals no knees(and the tapcoil pickup i like so much). Probably 1970. I wanted to add a few knees using John Coop's parts. After checking pictures of his work and some e-mailing I decided to remove all the old parts underneath and replace everything except for the changers/fingers(alu w/pin).
Man, this became the best sounding and playing single 10 i have ever played in my entire (steel-)life!
Thank you John, for making these great parts, and for your quick service! Rob.

Way to make a guy fall off his chair! What a guitar, Rob. That's a fine machine, a dream guitar of mine there. Wait 'til James Morehead sees this one. (Whattaya think, James?)
You lucky dog, Rob. Good job on the undercarriage. Coop's got it going on, doesn't he? I just ordered a knee lever kit from him, for my '76 Pro 1. Can't beat those round fronts, though. You should be happy. What else do you need? Nothing! That guitar will give you all the tone you'll ever want. Pro 1's just rock. Enjoy! |

Rob, that guitar should be kept under lock and key!! It's awesome!! Someday, I'm going to score me another roundfront Pro I! I can hear the tone through the pictures here!!
That is my favorite Pro I on the planet, a blonde round-front with rope inlay, and all done up with John's parts. |

Sure a nice guitar, that's for sure. I got a 6 pedal 5 knee lever Pro 1, parts from John Coop, and It's a Keeper. Good tone...al

Hey guys, thanks for all the kind words. I knew i'd be doing a few people out here a favor by showing these pictures, hehhehheh  !

Rob,
I have an old Sho-Bud exactly like yours. The model number is 6140, and like yours it originally had 6 pedals, and no knee levers. I bought it used, and somone had already removed 3 of the pedals, and added 4 knee levers. Aside from that, I belive the rest of the parts are all original. It has that sweet "old" Sho-Bud sound, and I play it in church every Sunday. You've got a real keeper there, enjoy it!

Well Chris, Coop was walking past a chrome tank one day and accidently stumbled and dropped ALL those parts right in. By the time he found something to fish them out with, he couldn't get all that shiney junk wiped off, soooo, looks like we are stuck with those pesky shiney parts! Just keep your guitars right side up, and those parts won't blind you.  |
