I'm selling a Melobar dating from 80's. This is a unique design and allows the player to play the instrument while standing.

It features two E-66 pickups which measure 17k ohms each.
Scale length is 22-7/8"
Neck width at zero fret is 2-1/2"

Replacement nut and bridge saddle with even spacing for strings. Also included are the original nut and saddle which are unevenly spaced to accommodate a floating fret guide bar, and used in a G/C tuning. The bar is somewhere in the shop and, if found before the sale, will be included with the guitar, or shipped to the buyer when found. Tuners can be flipped so the knobs are on top for easier access.

Included in sale is a large non original Levi's gig bag which provides good protection for the instrument.

Note: Some playing wear present including a small ding, and a short length of piping missing from the back of the soft cover. I will include new strings to the buyer.

Price lowered to $500 - buyer pays shipping. Paypal, Apple Pay, Zelle, and cold cash ok.

Just to help out Carl, that's the lowest price I've ever seen on a 88 Powerslide model, to the guys that have commented they can't find a neck for the Telobar Convertible this neck would be perfect and get you into a double neck for $850...

LOL, no they're not all dead Smile, look at the views and watchers on this lowball price on that Telobar convertible yet no one has pulled the trigger.

17 thousand views and 89 watchers is crazy interest without selling it.

The markets are soft on everything right now but I get a lot of inquiries every week. Look at Kings beautiful lap steels not selling for a steal of a price here on the forum - it's kind of crazy.

The proform body was really functional for getting the claw picking position but the aesthetics were never popular on that model. There's a lot of fire power in the parts on that guitar though with the E66 pickups.

The Grover keys should be flipped over in my opinion and a solid body put on the guitar. I think our dear news press has everyone so freaked out that none of us are spending money on toys and just waiting, I've lived through so many of these ups and downs and found you can lower the price more and more but the best thing to do is sit and wait for the public to get optimistic again. And there aren't anymore like that being built, so it's just waiting for the right person, hang in there.

Yes. I believe they are George L's.

Maybe Ted Smith will verify.

These are fun guitars to play. I had one for a few years and then bought one of Ted Smith's Telobars. This is a great price! Someone save me from myself and pick it up already. LOL

Yes the pup are George L E66, they manufactured them without the label and with longer mounting bolts for us back in the late 80's
