Thank you Peter and Joe for your kind comments!
Jerry I used an AKG C1000s and processed the sound a little in a DAW........but I suspect you have picked up on the mic overloading and distorting a little.......You would think I would be able to get it right by now!
Greg, No reason in this tune as the bottom string is rarely played.......I leave the instrument in this tuning with the low E as I have come from a guitar background and I understand the fretboard easier. Also the fact that I can get minor chords and 7th chords easier is great. I got the tuning from a guy called Greg Booth.......great player and my main inspiration when starting out!
Many Thanks,
Mike |

Thanks Mike. The reason I mention it is that, although the drop E dobro tuning (EBDGBD) is my default tuning I return string 6 to G for Panhandle Rag and use that string. If you put in a 2 chord like some do then the low E would be pretty handy. Steel Guitar Rag works pretty cool for that reason with the 2 chord in the B part. _________________ Greg

No, I didn't notice any distortion actually. I just thought the sound of the instrument was very nice and wondering if you were using the onboard Fishman unit or getting the natural sound of the instrument. Didn't see any cable there, but just asking. |
