This is a sweetheart . Set up with Flatwound strings .
Comes with gig bag . Guitar is in excellent condition . Still has plastic on back cover plate.
It has one ding on the headstock (see photo). I played this guitar at 3 live gigs . The ding happened on my first gig out with it . I will pack , ship and insure .

Hey Dan, is this a "real" Bigsby (made in the USA by Paul Bigsby) or a copy of an authentic one? Is so, I might be interested in it..........Thanks, Jerry in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |

possibly made by eric galletta(sp) who made one for thom bresh. if it was a real bigsby it would be ten times that amount. it has r.c. allen type, bigsbyish pickups.

Sorry for any confusion folks . This is a prototype of a run of copies .
Made by Gretsch / Fender in Japan I believe . Late 1990’s Early 2000’s
I think there is even a web site still up about these .
I figured anyone who has studied or scene a real Bigsby would just know this is a copy .
That said , there are not many of them and they are very cool .
And yes if it was real it would be around $15k
Again apologies for not being clear .

Dan, if it were an original Bigsby spanish guitar it would be worth considerably more than 15K. Or perhaps you mis-typed $51K, which would be more like it.
These are very cool guitars and well made. I have a BY-48 and it's a sweetheart. And very few in the series of about a half dozen different designs were made. One or two various models generally show up for sale a year. Another model is on Reverb right now. In MHO, the BY-50 is the closest to the original look.

Yes I did mis type the price of a real one !
Crazy that no one want to jump on this at $3400.
I might have to move it to Reverb. I would rather sell it here and donate to the forum.
I always start here in this community.
thanks for your input. $51 k can buy a lot of toilette paper .
Its crazy out there ! Buy a guitar its good for the soul. |
