Anyone ever mortgage the house to try one of these? I've heard the Purple Haze is great for guitar but looks like the Rosebud might be better for steel. This is in consideration for Deluxe Rev type amp in the 20-22 watt range (amp not the spkr).

For many years I played through a pair of 12" Hemp Cone alnico Tone Tubby speakers. They have a wonderfully rich tone, never harsh.

Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขve heard good things about the Purple Haze being similar to JBL but I balked at the price to experiment with it.
Anyone heard or played this speaker?
