In the old days i just ran the guitar chord from the instrument to the delay to the front of the amp.
Now I am trying to understand exactly how the delay pedal should be connected to the rear Panel using the Pre EQ Patch and the Preamp Out and Power Amp in.
Line 1 - from guitar to foot pedal
Line 2 - Option A - Pedal to Front Panel Elec. High Gain
or Option B - Pedal to Elec. In at the PreEQ Patch
HELP!
So how should the Delay Pedal be patched in correctly for maximum output?

I need a wiring diagram along with this manual.

Here's a better shot of the rear panel diagram for the Austin 400 on pg. 5 of the manual. They show a couple methods of patching effects devices.

Insert "Y" cables for using the pre eq method.

Also patching between pre in and pwr amp out.

At the moment, it isn't clear to me which method works best for the DD3, but maybe someone else can advise you from these diagrams.
