Arrived earlier today. Be jealous.
I had decided I needed a good quality S8 lap model recently, and this fit the bill. Solid sapelle with a beautiful figured koa top veneer. I love the sheer heft of this thing. Unlike a cheap lap steel, this one feels and sounds as good to play as my consoles, good sustain and great tone with his pickup, although I haven't finished dialing it in to taste yet. I also love all the turquoise for a little Southwestern flair.
In time I might look at getting a Clinesmith Joaquin as a sibling to it. Then I'm set for life (famous last words).
Mr. GeorgeBoards is a super nice guy and has done a lot for the community. I think he is retiring/retired from building again, but seems to have a few nice guitars left to sell, if you were thinking about one. |

Yup, Georgeboards are beautiful, high quality instruments. But also, Mr. Boards is an invaluable resource for those of us who choose to build our own. Can't thank him enough. _________________ David K |
