Amazing how much info/instruction is in this 25+ year old book. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=354043 I guess this and Winnie's book were some of the original instruction material available for steel guitar,,,and it will still go a long way on getting new players started!!!

After seeing this post I found my 2 copies and looked through them,,,what a great contribution to the steel guitar community!!! I wonder how much if any influence or contribution Buddy was to this?

I bought access to the online version of the Chord Dictionary (found at http://steelguitaracademy.com/forsale/chorddictionary/) a couple years ago. When I'm arranging a song for pedal steel and get really stuck - meaning I can't find a chord at the same fret I want to play the vocal melody - this is my go to source. With rare exception (some 5 or 6 note extended chords that are simply unplayable at every fret), this book shows how to play each chord at all 12 fret positions.

He has a bunch of books out, I started with his c6 lap steel books, the Method and Anthology. Tough /challenging for beginners, lots of near the nut slants tho not too many behind the bar pulls that i remember.

And then the same books with same songs for pedal steel, along with the Backup book. Then there's chord chart which i haven't quite gotten any comprehension of, and teh "Easiest country PSG " book which i hope i'm a little beyond.

Yes Gene,,,I am aware of all of Scotty's books,,,I was just commenting on how I've had this book for 20-25 years,,tucked away somewhere,,and now see how much more little tidbits of info are still there. Guess I just glossed over too fast 20 years ago,,,,,Amazing!!! Same with Winnie's book.
