Fred,
Signed in and wrote out a comment on Soundcloud, but couldn't find the "post" button... I always find your music interesting and this collaboration is a good match. Enjoyed the mood...

I dig it, Fred -- really interesting use of steel, and I like the sounds you both got. Not sure why, but I had an impression of the "Third Man" theme (even though that melody is very different -- just a feel/genre thing. _________________ Peter

Thank you all for your kind comments! I am glad you enjoy it. We are working on finishing an album with this material.
Peter - I take that as a compliment as I love that film and theme, and the main focus of this duo is to write and record film music. And I guess you refer to the first track, which is called "Madame Vega At The Fairground", and a fairground is a main setting of that film.
Erv - the piano sound is intentionally strange in that first track.
Thanks all for listening! _________________ www.fredrikkinbom.com - New lap steel album out now - listen here: fredrikkinbom.bandcamp.com/album/songs-for-lap-steel-and-harmonium |

Fred, I think it's excellent. I always make it a point to listen others' work when posted - not just from the forum - and your collaboration is really nice, and must have been a lot of fun...

Hello!
As some of you liked the previews here above of my project Kinbom/Brandenburg, I am pleased to tell you that our album “Madame Vega†comes out of 26 February. And the first track is released today! It is called “Notre Dameâ€, and the lap steel in this one is my Burgin Weissenborn:
https://fredrikkinbom.bandcamp.com/album/madame-vega
On the rest of the album, my 1939 Vega Console Electric is the most used lap steel (and it also gave name to the album and several tracks), but also some Lap King Rodeo and 1937 National New Yorker.
Anyway, I hope you will like this first track. The Weissenborn was recorded both with a mic and through the pickup, preamp and tube amp (the distorted signal blended in in places).
If anyone would like to pre-order the CD, you can do so via the link above. Any pre-orders are in times like these extra appreciated!
All the best from locked-down Berlin,
