What is the age of a LDG with a serial number of 52 57? Thank you!

If you'll post...
1. type of changer
2. style of undercarriage
3. whether it has the "gumby" headstock
4. teardrop knee levers or straight
5. wide or narrow pedals

Then, Ricky Davis should be able to get you pretty close to a year model on it. He's the Sho-Bud guru, as far as I'm concerned.

Sho-Bud's serial # system left a bit to be desired.

Blessings,
BigB

Turns out the LDG is a 1973 with the brass barrels, The pickup in it is the Lawrence 705, now extinct but had the best sound for that type of ShoBud PSG.
I have the original , but need work. Does anybody have the amount of ohms, in Lloyd Greens Sho bud pickup? Just wondering!

I was told the orginal pickups were 17.5, but have seen them as high as 20k. If you pull the pickup out, it should have the k ohms written on the bottom. Mine was written on a piece of tape.

Hope that helps.

I believe that Jerry Wallace rewound mine to 18.5, if you ask real nice he'll wrap it with the coil tap too.

Sonny; Lloyd Green has a Bill Lawrence 710 humbucker in his LDG now. The original Sho-bud pickup for your LDG was wound in the area of 19,500 and had a coil tap(split coil wire)that ran to a two-way toggle on the end plate in front of the input jack; and cut the ohms to around 11,500.
So the original should have a white(hot); black(ground); red(split coil)wires coming from it. If you had it re-wound to spec. Jerry Wallace would use the same guage wire to rewind; but if you had it re-wound with different guage; then you may not want the same ohm rating. Jerry has done many of these for me and they are all great. Jerry also make a great single coil True Tone to replace the original; but of course his magnets and wiring is of much better quality; and I've experienced his truetone wound to 17,500 is a dang near exact match and you would love the sound.
If you want to sell the LDG out-right "as is"; I'll buy it right now...ah...ha.
