I need to get a second reso gig bag and wanted to see what you all are liking out there. I have a Reunion Blues bag that I like a lot but know there must be others I should be considering.
Have one you like or, in the alternative, think should be avoided? |

I've been using this Road Runner bag for years. Super sturdy, good # of zippered compartments, padded inside, just the right size for reso. Sorry pic is rotated sideways.

Chris, I have a Blue Heron soft case for my S-8 Clinesmith lap steel. Outstanding quality - Todd has provided them for many of his instruments over the years. He was telling me a couple years ago that he has spotted folks at festivals carrying around 1930s holy grail Martins in Blue Herons. When it comes to a gig bag, you can’t get a higher recommendation than that!

Plus one for Blue Heron cases. My Clinesmith Frypan came with one. The fit is perfect, the quality is even better. _________________ Clinesmith consoles D-8/6 5 pedal, D-8 3 pedal & A25 Frypan, Pettingill Teardrop, & P8 Deluxe. |

I recently bought a reso that came in a Gator gig bag. Probably the nicest one I've seen--extremely heavy duty. The Gators come in different models--this is one of the more expensive ones.
The Blue Herons are nice too--got one with my Clinesmith lap steel.

I have a couple of Boulder Alpine bags. Nicely padded, sized for a reso so the guitar fits well, and both have held up well for me. |

Thanks, all. Keep 'em coming!
As for the Blue Heron bags, I've seen a few and they looked top notch. Plus, I'm such a fan of Todd's work that his endorsement alone is enough to make me look their way. Hearing the positive things you all are saying certainly adds to that.
I just got a medium weight Gator bag for my newly acquired uke (I know, I know... No need to say anything.), and was actually quite impressed with the quality for the price.
I'm appreciating all the input! |

Highly recommend you check out resophonic outfitters - I got a great squareneck gig bag there for a great price. |

Looking up the model name of the Gator bag I got with my reso--It's a Commander series. They seem to be discontinued and replaced with the Pro-Go bag. There seem to be some deals out there on Commanders if you can find one. They were very pricey originally.

I've bought several of the Roadrunner bags from GC... no complaints. Best is that you can try them on the guitar before you buy, everyone's got a GC local to them. _________________ New FB Page: Lap Steel Licks And Stuff: https://www.facebook.com/groups/195394851800329 |

The nice thing about gig bags - you are more likely to be allowed to hand carry onto a plane. |
