Here's a video of our showcase from the APAP convention last weekend in NYC (the reason I had to forego playing at the SWSGA show in Mesa). Video was just taken with a cellphone but it'll give you a pretty good idea of the set and the great reception we received there. For best results, set the quality to 1080p in the Vimeo player (using the "gear" icon in the bottom-right corner).

Hi Jim -

'you've got yourself into something you can really be proud of.

Hope the Showcase turns out to be very beneficial for your group.

Good band! and the 'chirp' does well too. Enjoying this, javascript:bbstyle(-1)especially Blue Bayou; great sound on the pedal steel.
Thanks for letting us listen.

Jim, you’re having way too much fun and it shows! I’m totally jealous and envious of your being in such a great band/group. Ha! Once again, your steel is adding the soul to compliment your fantastic “Linda Ronstadt” singer/twin. Thanks for posting...Carl

As close as it gets to the real thing, especially for some of us who where too young or too stupid to experience it the first time around.

Kudos Jim, you continue to amaze me with your talent and drive!

Nice Jim! That Stage One sounds mighty fine. So much for needing a fancy $6K pedal steel with 12 pedals and clusters of knee levers.

Thank you, Ron, Charlie, Susan, Carl, Craig, and Doug. I appreciate it and, yes, I'm having a ball being in this group. It's the music I first started playing steel on, and Linda was my favorite singer, so this is really coming full-circle for me.

Thanks Rob!

And any day one can find a way to lure John Steele out of the shadows is a good day in my book! Wink
Thanks, John and nice to see you hangin' around these parts once again. I'll never forget that back and forth, trading lines you did on Autumn Leaves years ago - but, obviously, I forgot who was your pickin' partner on that...? (I know, I'll feel really dumb for forgetting who it was once you remind me, but not quite as dumb as I feel almost every day forgetting why I walked into a room...!) Rolling Eyes

Hi Jim,
Ah yes, the Autumn Leaves project... I'd forgotten about that. My partner on that was our talented and clever friend Jerry Gleason in Oregon.
I feel badly about my absence from the forum, and more so my losing contact with so many steeler friends over the last many years. I'm slowly emerging from a trying period of dealing with a bunch of bereavement in the family and all the connected issues which required most of my time and energy, but I'm still standing.
So my contributions to the forum have been regrettably small of late, but I did want to "emerge from the shadows" to say how nice it was to hear you again, even if only over the computer, and to wish you well on your show. Maybe I'll see you in Dallas in March.
All the best,
- John
