As a perennial sideman I’m not quite sure what got into me, but I’ve gone and recorded an instrumental steel album. Twelve tracks, nine originals, all featuring the stellar lead guitar work of Ian Miller. Stylistically it’s pretty old school, both straight and pedal steel, lots of twin guitar stuff. If that sounds appealing, please give it a listen. Hope you like it!

Should also be available on Apple Music, Spotify, etc. Or if you’d like a CD by mail, just send me a PM or email. Thanks!

If I’ve posted this in the wrong section, I apologize!

Thanks, guys! Appreciate you taking the time to check it out.

John, you asked about the gear. I used three different guitars: Sho-Bud Permanent, Bigsby T-8, Rickenbacker DW-16, and two amps: Deluxe Reverb and a tweed Pro clone. As for the recording process, I can tell you very little. Matt Buetow (singer, songwriter, steel player, engineer, and all around lifesaver for a Luddite like myself) recorded the steel and guitar tracks in my living room and also mixed the record. If it sounds good, it’s thanks to him. Perhaps he will see this and chime in.

Dave, I really could never say enough about how much I love Ian Miller. Playing with him has been one of the great joys of my life. And he’s been getting after the steel, too, so everybody watch out!

Thanks again for the kind words, y’all.

Why I remember when you were just a kid at the steel jams, Hee Hee. Just goes to show you what a great Musican can do, good job old friend.

Russ, I love your cd! Right down my alley. Sounds of Emmons in the early years. Great pedal steel stuff too...

Real nice Rusty! I especially like the retro tunes with all the great twin work. Jamie Greenan has been telling me about your scene in Portland. Great to finally hear it.

This is awesome!
I have almost worn out my Murph, Vance, Tommy, and JW CD's so this is a very welcome addition.
