I have a Carter-Starter with 3 pedals, and 4 levers. Am using Jeff Newman's E9th Tuning Chart. No problem on the LKL/LKR knee levers. However, need help with the HZ settings for the RKL and RKR knee levers. I think the settings for these levers should be as indicated below but am not sure.
RKL 438.5
RKR 439

Appreciate all help.

Regards,

Donny

Donny,

If you're using this chart:
http://www.jeffran.com/tuning.php

The RKL on your Carter Starter lowers the 5th string a half-step. It is labled as the "X" lever on the Newman chart, and the chart recommends 442.5

The RKR on the Carter Starter lowers the 2nd string a half-step (it does not have a half-stop mechanism like some guitars that lowers the 2nd string all the way down to C#... so you can ignore that on the chart) This is labled as the "E" lever on the Newman chart. So it is tuned 439.

Tucker,

I am using the chart that you referenced, and thank you very much. I was a little confused by the "X" and "E" levers as shown on the chart. You've been a big help.

Regards,

Donny
