If you've split your Nash 400 into a head cabinet, please post pictures here, share the dimensions you used, any tips/tricks to the conversion. Thanks! |

I've built a dozen or so of these for players.
My kits also came with panels to close in the amp cab to use as a speaker cab with it.
I searched around and finally found this old post [see below] that shows John Lemay's drawing with dimensions for building a NV400 head cab. I'm surprised it is still there. That's the drawing I use.
Hope this is of some help. JO.

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread, but since I saw the question and had a response, I figured I'd post up.
Here's the drawing of John LeMay's plans for at least the head part of the Nashville. Thanks. -J

I had Rick Johnson make mine. I couldn't afford to have a matching speaker cabinet made, so I just use the NV400 cabinet.

FWIW, John's drawings are for 3/4" thick stock...or whatever that equivalent is these days for finished lumber.
I have found the best prices for cabinet hardware at www.parts-express.com Look in the clearance section first...they often have buyouts and clearance on quality hardware such as Penn/Elcom, Peavey, Switchcraft etc.
I buy grille cloth, cabinet covering, tolex, from them too.
Sometimes www.tubesandmore.com has good deals, sales, clearance on these items as well. It's a good idea to compare prices from both as deals come and go.
For the lightest weight box material, use pine boards or birch plywood. I use 3/4" material...you might get by with smaller stuff, but you'll have to adjust the drawing dims and too small material makes it less sturdy and hard to hold fasteners. |

Thanks Jerry Overstreet!
I have a bunch of 1x12 pine that should work nicely. |
