I've seen posts about adapter rings that will allow installing a 12" speaker in a 15" mounting.

You can just get 1x12" speaker cabinet and a speaker cord to run from the amp to the speaker.
Put the speaker cabinet on top of the amp behind you at gigs and it'll hit you in the hips/back area instead of your feet/knees. Better.
I bought a 15">12" reducer ring from JaMac here in Portland, and found it to be a messy fix. The have them for $15 bucks as I recall.
You can make one yourself. It is just a piece of wood that looks like a doughnut, basically.
Attatch the outer 15" edge to the exisitng speaker holes (or drill new), screw the speaker screws into the new inner 12" edge using a screwdriver-drill.

I found an old Bandit 65 and installed the Nashville chassis in the Bandit cabinet, coupled to a Telonics neo 12. Sounds very good and is about ten pounds lighter than the old Nashville 400.

Even better,(lighter), get a special 130-150 cab, and install the chassis in it!
I put a Teal Stripe Bandit in one!

I just finished putting my Nash 400 in a Special 130 cab! Have a cheap Eminence alpha12 in it. Probably gonna put a Sica eventually. The Special is in a Nash 400 cab now with Emin 15 neo. Also have LTD 400 with 15 and Bandit 65 with sica. Use them all for different situations. Bandit for lap steel and Tele, Special for same but out door, bigger stage. Nash in small cab 12 for small pedal gigs and rehearsals, and LTD for bigger stage. If I had room I would collect more of the old PVs. Neat to see other ppl putting Nash in smaller cab. I love it. Gonna rehearse with it tonight for first time. So much lighter and easier to carry around now.

I just took a piece of 1/2" square plywood and cut a hole in it,painted it black, mounted the speaker and then screwed the piece of plywood to the cabinet. I don't see any reason it would need to be doughnut shaped.

I put a TSNEO-12-8 Telonics 12" speaker by Eminence into a Peavey Bandit cabinet, along with Nashville 400 amp chassis.

I really like the sound, and its a little easier to handle, too.

I put a 12 inch 8 ohm neo speaker in a Twin Reverb cabinet, and it sounds fantastic. The speaker is a TC Furlong branded Eminence that he liquidated awhile ago. The twin cabinet was initially converted to a dedicated speaker cab with a baffle for a 15. I used a ring converter, from MojoTone as I recall, to install the 12.

This 12 neo sounds much better to me in this cabinet than it did in smaller cabinets. I've powered it with a Twin Reverb head, a Dual Showman head, a Milkman Mini head, and a Sarno/Matrix rack. Every time it sounds stellar. Plus it's fairly light.

I like the sound I am getting from the Nashville 400 coupled with the Telonics 12 better than I ever liked the stock amp with the Black Widow. I swapped the reverb tank for a MOD unit today, another big improvement.
