Roy,strings 5 and 8,A AND B pedals down is a good place to start...say 7th fret...then back down two frets to fret 5...then release the pedals with the 8th string lowered to Eb...that will give you the positions for the"yodel"lick...you can phrase it lots of different ways...I use this A LOT...

Happy New Year

With A/B pedals down, strings 4-5-6-8 are the same intervals as strings 1-2-3-4 on the dobro. (plus string 7, pedals down, is the 6th, which is also nice).

So, you can use transfer almost ALL your dobro licks to PSG, pretty easily. If they have open strings, you'll be in the key of A or E (like the dobro capo'd at 2nd fret), but if no open strings, you can move them all over the neck.

I use this for most of my "blues" playing on PSG, since I'm more comfortable on dobro for now.

Quite easy to do hammer-ons at the open E position to play melodies like a dobro player does.
