One Speedy West S-10 SOLD - Thank you for looking! Forum contribution on its way.

Speedy West – Marlen S-10, 3 X 2 Pedal Steel Guitar

Rare Speedy West (Marlen) Custom Pedal Steel Guitar - Pull Release changer, 3 pedals and 2 knee levers.

The model number is SW10S. The serial number is 174003. I am not sure why this number does not follow Marlen’s “reverse date” pattern.

50 pounds in the hardshell case and the case weighs 23 pounds alone.

It has a pretty standard copedant – The “A” pedal raises strings 5 & 10 whole step to C#. The “B” pedal raises strings 3 and 6 a half step to A. The “C” pedal raises strings 4 and 5 a whole step to F# and C#, respectively. The LKL Lever raises strings 4 and 8 a half step to F and LKR lowers those strings a half step to Eb. The tuning of the pedals and levers may need to be adjusted to your taste in note offsets (just / tempered tunings).

Has Sho-Bud “dust-catcher” fretboard. There are some finish defects, bar dings and normal wear appropriate for the instrument’s age. The inlay work on the front left of the guitar is an example (See pic).

Packaging for shipment – I have included pictures of the packaging for a recent shipment I made. I used stiff foam insulation board protected by thick cardboard. Deduct $50.00 for local pick-up without packaging.

Price - $1075.00 Buyer pays for shipping from zip code 01451. PayPal or cleared check OK. No trades.

Interesting placement of the badge, is there one one the front too?
Someone was selling those badges a few years ago. I bought one for my fridge.

I saw the same badges on E-Bay a few years ago and bought 5 for chump change. There is one on E-Bay now with an asking price of $30.00. I had purchased a Marlen D-10, buyer beware, which I had Chuck Back restore and he did a fantastic job (you can see your reflection in the finish - WOW). Interestingly, when he took the changer off, underneath was written "custom made for Speedy West". I have attached before and after pictures.
