I know it's a long shot, but does anyone have a trapezoid bridge plate in their parts drawer they would sell me?

Thanks.

Ouch. A sheetmetal shop could weld it and have it re plated if you cant find one.

It's the metal part that anchors the strings (they attach to it). The pickup is mounted on the plate.

Now I've had a closer look I can see where it's parted.
Good luck!

Jeff, I remembered someone selling this part a while back. Maybe it's still available...

Thanks to everyone who replied. I just got a message from a mate of mine on the other side of the pond who has one and is sending it to me. I got some great suggestions and offers of help though from lots of people both here and on Facebook. The steel guitar community is the best! Thanks again.

Well that's some good news. I gotta say your picture has me a little freaked out Whoa! . I'm inspecting mine for any signs of cracking!
Did something happen to yours? Is this common with these models?

Glenn.

It's not my guitar - I was asking for a friend but he isn't aware of anything that could have caused it other than a fall while it was in the case (unlikely to have caused it).

I did get a reply from someone in Facebook who had the exact same problem but I've never come across it before so I wouldn't say it's a common problem or a design fault.
