The one on the top left looks like it might be a 12 string _________________ "To live outside the law you must be honest." (Bob Dylan) |

Eric, the one on top left is a 69' D-11 that I was restoring for the late Jim Florence. The one beside it is a S-10 that I started using all NOS parts including the body. Blue one far left is a BMI D-10 that I restored and sold. The one in the middle is a 69' D-11-10 that belonged to the late Chick Donner. His and Jim Florence's guitar were both ordered on the same day from Zane in 68' and if I remember right the serial numbers are 0013 and 0017. Jim's guitar did a few tours of duty in Viet Nam and even had shrapnel imbedded in the endplate. The guitar on the right is my personal 72' D-11-10. In the back against the wall is my 66' D-10. This was taken at one of the Lexington KY Steel shows.

Greg, Jim was so proud of his guitar when he got it back. He would bring it to our club meetings in Owasso and play. We got to know Jim in his later years. I believe that he had been a very good player in his younger days, and was a blast to be around and pick on. After he had his guitar back, he had it on the floor assembling it before our club meeting. I walked up and noticed a rubber band attached to something on the undercarriage. Being a little bit of a smartxxx, and loving to pick on Jim, I said wow Jim, did Greg put new rubber bands on too? I hope you got to hear his laugh, it was a cannon. We both had a big laugh. I miss Jim and Annie.

Yes Rick, Jim and Annie are very much missed here at my place. We had been very good friends for many, many ears. Jim was our steel player for a long time in our band, (Lou Rose and the Entertainers). We did many shows along with fiddle player Earl Jennings, Bass Roy Sparks & Drums Bruce Ott. What good memories that brings up. And Greg Jones, that steel of his I tore down and refinished years ago but it had been thru hell and back. He went on tour with a guy out of OKC and was gone for six months or so up North and to the West Coast too I think. Charlie Shaw was the name I think. He had several songs get played on radio and one being the WHOOP SONG.But you did a much better job of refinishing than I did. I just had a little small no nothing shop. But Jim had retired out of the Air Force & moved back to Wilburton, Ok where he was from and his Mother was still their. I think this was about 1972. And Yes Rick, Jim had a booming laugh.
And I heard the story too about the ZB falling out of a helicopter along with many other stories that I cannot remember now. He and Annie were a HOOT to be around. J.R. Rose _________________ NOTHING..Sold it all. J.R. Rose |

And Greg, Jim's guitar had the Scranton Decal on it. Theirs another thread on the forum as of late about that Decal. Jim picked that guitar up at Tom's house in Bakersfield. Maybe you can confirm that it had some Scranton parts in it. J.R. _________________ NOTHING..Sold it all. J.R. Rose |
