Up for sale is a 1941 Gibson EH-125 7-string lap steel. It's 100% original, and comes with the original case, which has light to moderate wear. There is moderate scratchiness in the pots that I haven't been able to eliminate, but the pickup sounds great. This is a true solidbody steel and has much better sustain than Gibson's earlier hollow models.

I'm asking $SOLD including Paypal fees and shipping within the US. I can ship internationally, but I'll need to investigate the price before I can give you the total.

FYI: Sometimes, emails sent to me through the forum seem to get lost in my spam filter. You're better off contacting me using the forum's PM system instead of email. Thanks!

Wow, I've only seen one of these twice before in 25 years. Cool guitar. How does the"speedbump" pickup sound?

It's a surprisingly raw-sounding pickup, probably as close as Gibson ever came to sounding like Fender (even though Fender wasn't around yet in 1941). It's moderately hot and makes a great rock and roll steel - though it can do Hawaiian or country music with equal aplomb.

I have the 1936 7-string model. These are so well built and resonate insomuch that you almost dont need an amp. And that extra string gives you more options - and makes you think Smile.

Kudos on such an effect use of the lovely adjective "aplomb."
