I'm selling this rare LeGrande... it's a gorgeous early Emmons Le Grande SKH, apiece of Emmons history.. possibly one of the very first ones, I had a pic of Ron Lashley playing it at a NAMM show I'm pretty sure.. ... it is 4 and 8 . Emmons set up, E's lower on the LNR and Raise the E's on the LKL... all original and a beautiful guitar....$4250.00 plus $200.00 shipping,,UPS will pack and insure. e-mail me at lucybobkat@yahoo.com

Pretty guitar! Can’t say I’ve ever seen an SKH, LeGrande 1,2,3 etc. with the old push pull style pedals. Is this a Frankensteel??

Bob,

What a cool piece of Emmons history you got there, that gal has some major mojo happening. And totally drool worthy!

Mike, that’s no Frankensteel. That’s the way the first ones came out of the factory and to tell the truth, I wish they would’ve kept on building them that way. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one for sale of that early a vintage.

Best of luck with your sale!

Just a note in packing that UPS won't be clever enough to do the #1 thing required to protect the guitar from damage - that is reinforcement bracing to keep the partition in the case from breaking out. I would also unstring it to prevent the strings from damaging the changer fingers if anything moves out of place.

It's a beauty - juzt adding my 0.02 to help keep it that way.

Yes, indeed, Doug. I noticed that as well. Emmons used PP right moving levers for that position in the early LeGrande guitars. Using that toggle to reverse direction was probably one of the very earliest arrangements, before simplifying the method as shown below.

Bob has a gorgeous example of a SKH Emmons and I certainly wish him well in the sale!

The first LeGrande I had built was serial number 028L and It got to me in Dec 1982. So, this beauty was built before mine, and is earlier with the P/P pedals. A piece of history for sure.

Good move Bob ! I also had an early LeGrande. Mine had black anodized pedals and 18.5K Emmons single coils. That steel had a great tight tone. Wish I still had it!

Larry, the cabinets on Emmons guitars are of the same width. Only the length has varied with model changes. Notice that the necks are push pull (shorter) and do not come to the end of the changer mount. This was the same as rosewood that Buddy played in the 80's.
