Many thanks to Alan Emons who has just done a great job refinishing my 1978 blue birdseye push pull.

Hi Shane,
Tuning is E9. I bought the guitar new via George Xanthos in 78. It was 4 pedal 2 lever then (right knees) but I have added 3 levers.
Regards,
Richard

I shoulda borrowed your glasses off your outdoor setting and taken a better more thoughtful look.I got mine from George Xanthos also. The Australian steel community owes a lot to George, for all he's done supplying instruments, repairs and information.Great guy too.Cheers.
Shane.

I had a D-10 the same color except the necks where blue instead of black. Should have held on to it.

Bolt ons , wrap arounds , cut tails don't seem to follow any time frame . This beautiful S10 is from 1978 which I thought would be in the split tail era . Am I right saying that changers do not date the guitar ?

Nick,
I thought it would strike a chord with you!
It always had a good tone, but I was amazed at the difference a True Tone pup made. Thanks Jerry!

Is the 4th string in the 4th photo vibrating?. Its oscillations look maxxed out at the 12th fret, as you would expect.

Beautiful looking thing, great job

Jeremy,
The only oscillations at the time were my heart racing!
It has a chrome fret board, and the string is merging into the front border.

Thanks for the appreciative comments! I am getting so much pleasure out of playing this instrument at the moment. It has never sounded better! I am using a Hilton pedal and Session 400, and fitted a TT pickup before Alan re-finished the guitar. The pick-up made a big difference; the tone had been slightly muddy on the top strings on the higher frets.

Now, I prefer the tone of the S10 to my mica D10 (aluminium necks)pp. I also fitted TT pickups to this guitar, and they were an improvement.

I am waiting on Ron to ship my new Legrande III, and am looking forward to the comparison in tone and playability with the push pull guitars.

Richard
