I have to install a LKV knee lever kit on a GFI Expo S-10. I can probably find a spot for it but it would make life easier if I had a photo (or other documentation) of an S-10 that has the LKV lever installed.
Thanks. |

Got the kit and LKV installed on an S-10 Expo.
The pictures helped, especially Gary's.
Bob, at GFI, thought I might have to relocate one of the knee levers but it installed without moving anything existing.
Here are a couple of pictures, for anyone contemplating doing this.

.098" which is a little more than 3/32 (.09375) and a little less than 7/64 (.109375). So I don't know what they are. Its what I measured with a Harbor Freight digital caliper. |

Jack,
Did you make your rod measurement on the threaded portion of the rod? GFI uses 3/32" roll threaded rods and the threads are a little larger than the rod diameter itself.
I was changing over my (new to me) GFI S12 Ultra from Extended E9th to Universal and had to order a pull kit from GFI to get a rod with proper threads to keep the guitar all original. |

No, I made the measurement on a "plain" part of a rod. |

I'm thinking I might convert the bellcranks in my Carter to the GFI bellcranks. I have to check the cross shaft size. I really prefer the GFI style to the Carter style. This way I can eliminate the Carter dog bones (pull pins), and make it less cluttered by eliminating one of the 2 legs of the Carter bellcranks. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Richard, I picked up some GFI parts thinking the same as you, but the bell cranks are 5/16" so they won't fit the 3/8" Carter shafts.
I'm not sure if all eras of GFI builds are the same. |

Things I love about the build of a GFI:
• KL brackets that attach to the body, not the crossrod, and can push or pull to the "action" crossrod. So levers can be placed EXACTLY where they fit you!
• Single neck width crossrods for the E9 pedals. Look how uncluttered that is where the staggered LKLevers are!
Great pix and very helpful, Gary, thanks for posting them! _________________ E9 INSTRUCTION
