To my eyes this is an experimental rickenbacker lap steel. The tuning knobs and the volume/tone knobs are from an early model. The shape is somewhat like that of the SW6. But its made of galvanized steel!?! (and wood at the ends).
The price is (so far) very low, I think. But its not a classic, agreed. |

It's a stock Model J, late '50s. Not common, but there are others out there. |

I'd never seen one either, Rune. It looks like a Grey Hammertone finish rather than galvanizing. I wonder how the sound compares to their stamped metal guitars. |
