Hi All,
I recently picked up a Gibson BR-6. In comparison to my other laps, Fender Champ and cheap little Rogue, the tone seems very dark and woolly. Up high it really screams though. I thought about replacing the orig. controls or the cap to see if that helps.

Being new to lap steel, I thought I'd ask the experts. Maybe this model with the P-90 is very dark?

Any input is appreciated.

Regards

That pickup does have noticeably more low-mids and bass than anything Fender ever created (including the Strat-style pickup which is probably in your Rogue). If you have your amp set for the Fender, you may want to adjust the controls accordingly.

Thanks Noah! I'll definitively keep that in mind.
