Hi All,
I recently picked up a Gibson BR-6. In comparison to my other laps, Fender Champ and cheap little Rogue, the tone seems very dark and woolly. Up high it really screams though. I thought about replacing the orig. controls or the cap to see if that helps.
Being new to lap steel, I thought I'd ask the experts. Maybe this model with the P-90 is very dark?
Any input is appreciated.

That pickup does have noticeably more low-mids and bass than anything Fender ever created (including the Strat-style pickup which is probably in your Rogue). If you have your amp set for the Fender, you may want to adjust the controls accordingly. |

Thanks Noah! I'll definitively keep that in mind. |
