Hey,

Just got my first D-10 off the forum (thanks, Steve!). It's an older GFI Ultra, in blue. Got it and set it up yesterday, and so far I'm loving it.

Here's the factory copedent from GFI. It currently has a D 1st string on the C6 neck, (Which I'm raising to Eb on P5), otherwise this one is still setup this way.

Any obvious changes or differences I should consider, before I get too comfortable with this setup? I kind feel like C-C# on a knee lever, by itself, would be nice.

Anything else? Any E9 changes (It's what I'm used to, other than the Bb vertical). Other advice?

Thanks!

I have no worthy copedent advice, just here to say that that is a lovely steel.

C to C# is useful for c6. It gives you an A7 at open position. You could also add A to Ab for a C7 at same position. I replaced pedal 4 with the C to C# since I found myself using that more than the normal p4 and it was awkward to hit.

can you add more knee lever changes?
I raise strings 3 and 8 to C# with RKR. I'd recommend raising and lowering string 4 a half step in both directions on the other knee, and I raise both Es to F on pedal 4 instead of the As to B. also popular on pedal 4 is a reverse of pedal 6 (raise 6 to F, lower 2 to Eb) with or without raising string 10 to D.

I have a 2000 model year Ultra D-10. Stock copedent works good for me as it is the same as what I had on my 82 Franklin that I played for 38 years. The only change not on the GFI is raising E9th string 7 a half tone with the RKR.
