I was lucky enough to find on cable tv here in the UK a film of Joni Mitchell's 75th birthday celebration and concert. There was an assembly of the great and the good singing her songs, but what stood out was the quality of the backing band, where Greg Leisz stood head and shoulders above them all.
Perfect touch, absolute command of volume, huge degrees of musicality and playing complex music without a glitch.
He was playing an Infinity ?12 string? with 5 pedals but no clue as to levers. The sound was gorgeous!
I know we have any number of masters of pedal steel, but Greg has to be right up there!
I will pick my jaw up from the floor on Tuesday.

Leisz is fantastic. His normal rig has been a red Williams 12 string in Extended E9. I've not seen his copedent published anywhere. Great player...
