Nothing to do with steel guitar but I thought some of our 6 string players might be interested in this. Japanese guitarist Ichika has his guitar tuned to a Dmaj7 chord here (low to high) 1 - 5 - 7 - 3 - 7 - 1 and gets some very cool sounds out of what he calls "ethereal tuning". Lots of tapping going on too.

Thanks for posting. Usually I take a comment about a solo guitarist tapping as a warning, because it usually ends up being a drum solo on a guitar. This youngster has a refreshing sense of melody and harmony to go along with his technique. It ain’t just the tuning...

I’ll just add that this kind of playing is so far out of my reach it makes me want to go windmill a few rounds of Won’t Get Fooled Again.
