And yet another scintilating offering on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PEDAL-STEEL-GUITAR...

Looks like a DIY job to me.

Whew! I think I'm gonna pass out!

I don't know which is more ridiculas. The guitar itself, or that fact that it actually has bids on it!

Shill bids, most likely...............

The bidders must be attracted by the subtle tones of the sunburst finish.

I'm trying to work out what the missing letter is.

Guys:That is an Emmons student model, they don't look like much but they actually sound pretty good,it is not a do it yourself fake,it's a real Emmons.

Hi Stu, I knew that actually, I was just having a joke with my good friend Ken Byng (great player). I'd seen some for sale at a steel guitar shop in the early 70's here in England, but not in a sunburst. As we all know most of the student steels of yesterday looked very basic, like the second breed of Sho-Bud Mavericks, the ZB's etc etc. It's only today that the student steels look "much" better like the Carters and GFI's

Micky - how the devil are you??

I sold several Emmons Guitars for Eric Snowball in the '70's, but never saw a student model that looked like this. It's a new one on me - but there you go, we learn all the time.

I caught you on the television the other evening ( a repeat ). They should have played "Some Broken Hearts Never Mend" in the background. You looked good and came across extremely well.

Going back to student steels - one of the best sounding steels that I have ever had a go on was a ZB student. This particular one was blessed with a wonderful tone. Don't ask me why but it was incredible. It must be floating around the UK somewhere.

Thanks Bobbe. I have seen a few Little Buddy's in my time, but they were all natural finish and not sunburst which is what threw me. The changers were very basic to put it mildly, and the whole instrument was very light and difficult to keep in tune. Your valuation is very generous.

Thanks for the info Bobbe, I'd seen the little Buddy's too here in UK in early 70's and as I was a complete beginner then,I couldn't tell much difference in the appearance of the Student steels, and as Ken said, we'd never seen a sunburst one here. Ken, I'm doing fine mate, glad you saw me on the program....be it only briefly. Was the ZB student you mentioned a blue one by any chance? It was bought by a guy called Barry Dekes in the early 70's.It did have a great tone. You all take care

Just a little info :
The Little Buddy pedal steel is not a student model Emmons . That one in the pic does not look like a student model Emmons because of the raised neck .The BlackRock model has a raised neck like that but it is straight all the way down .Having said this I should say I have been wrong many times .
