It seems that my regular clip on tuner doesn't work well on my frypan. Was thinking about a foot switch model but thought I'd ask here what's working for other frypan owners. All things pretty much equal, the clip on style would suit me better. |

My Planet Waves/D'Addario Micro Tuner works well on the Clinesmith 'pan, also works clipped up on the top of the headstock, but I like the hidden way better. I rarely use it though...since I always have to plug in to something anyway....
Due to the need to chase tuning as the 'pan goes from room temperature to lap temperature, I usually either play to a PA through my Baggs Venue DI, with Tuner built-in, and used frequently, or with my The Amp using a TU-3s on the amp/pedalboard, always on. The little footswitch on the upper right kills the sound to the amp when doing serious tuning, but having it always on means I can usually see what I need while playing...(the footswitch is easily replaced by a Moyo volume pedal on a short cable when I need one)

Steve - Thanks for the info and pics of your pedal set up. What are the cables that you're using? |

Cables are nothing special..just good quality from a local music store with a good reputation and lifetime guarantee (Trade-Up Music).
To connect from the frypan I do use a GLS 6 foot cable for the crucial reason that it has nice silver accents to match the 'pan....so I'm sure it sounds better (and it is braided cover and low capacitance, which doesn't actually matter with the 'pan, because I turn the tone down anyway).
