I just purchased a nice looking Marlen S-10 that needs some undercarriage work. I've followed a few leads already that have dead ended. Can anyone give me a lead for someone who will work on this for me?

Jamie, I can repair it for you if you don't mind the distance I am from you. If you want to ship it I can fix it.

Jerry, Thanks for your quick reply. It just got to me from Oklahoma City so going back "out there" would probably be OK. Can you e-mail directly to me at JJones4@aol.com some more details of your work experience on Marlens and any other comments you can share? I can send you pics too! - Thanks!

Hello. I'm not trying to do Jerry out of a job, but you might try Billy Cooper at Billy Coopers Music in Orange, Virginia. Go to Links, at the top of this page, click on Links. Then under Vendors, click on Billy Coopers Music. Good luck with it. Larry J.

Larry, Thank you for that lead. I know of Billy Coopers as I visited his store a few weeks ago and he showed me his repair shop. Very nice place with lots of really fine instruments. I didn't have the Marlen then and didn't know to ask him, but he is a definite option. Thank you!

Call Charlie Ward @ 1(828)684-6771. He lives in Arden NC just outside of Asheville. If he can't do the job for you, it can't be done anyhow. NC is Emmons and Marlen country. Charlie is the Godfather of the push/pull and knows Marlen's inside and out. You can trust him with your life!! And his prices are way too cheap IMHO. Hope this helps!!

Thanks to all for your helpful suggestions here on the Forum and off-line e-mails. Mike Calaway in Salem VA is going to work on my Marlin. He is a very nice person and obviously has a remarkable background having worked with Leonard Stadler for many years. Thanks to all. I suppose this thread can close out!
